Beginner's classes include tips on how to use tips and bags, as well as cake-decorating techniques using icing, roses, garlands, borders, daisy drop flowers, and sugar molders. In our advanced classes, you learn how to cover a cake with fondant roll-outs, how to sculpt 3-D designs, as well as cutting techniques to sculpt the cake, proper stacking, gumpaste methods for durability and a realistic look.
Basic Cake Decorating
A beginner's class includes five lessons, once a week for five weeks. During this class, you will complete four cake tops, learn all about buttercream flowers, sugar, molding, color flow, and much more. Below is a list of items that you need for this class.

A 100% Edible Shopping Bag
Learn how to make this beautiful shopping bag, which you can match with your high-heel shoes, for the top of a cake, or just to add to the decorations on your board. This bag can be used for all different occasions, including birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, congratulations, or hobbies, such as gardening, bowling, shopping, etc. The possibilities are endless.
During this class, you learn how to make this shopping bag, which is empty, and learn methods that will help you make many other items for your cakes or boards. Make this bag and even include a cake inside. Once made, the bag is approximately 7" 1/2" long, 6" tall, and 4" wide, not including the tissue paper at the top.

Create a 3-D Purse
As a fun class for more advanced students, you will be stacking, carving, crumb coating, fondanting, and decorating a sculpted 3-D purse made entirely out of cake and sugar. All students in the class sculpt the same shape purse but are free to decorate it to match their individual style. You are welcome to bring your own reference photos.
During the class, we discuss various cake carving and inner structure techniques, as well as the process of creating a 3-D cake from a 2-D image. We also explore using different texture effects, along with food color painting, to create a more realistic looking purse.

Class Policies & Notes
Class fees are non-refundable, returnable, or transferable. As space is limited to the students only, we ask that you do not bring guests. Each class meets in the building to the right as you come into the back parking lot. Lastly, please bring all supplies with you on the beginning night of your class, and show up on time. Our instructors require a set number of students to hold a class.
